the Vikings did duel wield axes and swung continuesly non stop and the Samurai did have a fighting style in witch they wielded 2 swords.
That is true, but warriors aren't Vikings or Samurai. They are warriors. Therefore, they should not have duel weapons.

It's a well-known fact that warriors suck hard and don't do any damage at all, so that only the awesomeness of wielding 2 swords at once can make them worthy of respect. Oh, and wouldn't imbalance the game... at all.

You're being stupid on purpose, right? Anyways, it's still a stupid idea because it would screw up the game, but I think dual wielding should be an option for GW2 warriors.

mmm... yeah... put an axe in the right hand and a sword in the left hand, and use a skillbar with skills for sword and for axe at the same time... With the speed of a sin and the damage of 15-22 and 6-28...

then the warrior will write /killall! and the life of the opponents will go to 0...
nice idea...

the concept of actual sins is so or so braindead shit imo, which is the reason why giving warriors now dual wildign would completely screw up the whole crap concepted game profession wise ...

Its just only somethign for GW2, where we can hope for, that anet will make much better profession concepts, that allow players to create more possible professions and where the core profession are gameplay wise all improved, so that GW2 won't be again never a game with the horrible gameplay image of only creating Wannabe Professions, due to the dumb 2 class system and the limited possibilities you have with each single profession, where when you try to create a character, that should be like a non ingame existign profession, like a Bard, a Rogue, Blacksmith or so, the result will only ever end up in Wannabes, that don't look, move or act like that, what you really wanted to have.

The concept of assassins is alone shit, because of the fact, that anet made out of dagger weapons a weapon, that counts as 2H weapon and made not their work correct from the begin on, with implementing direct with factions a Dual Wieldign System to the game for both professions, Sins and Warriors.

Would get Daggers handled as single hand weapons, like Swords and Axes, it would be much easier to balance the dual weildign of a Sin to the dual wielding of the Warrior with simple differences between both types of dual wielding.

Dual wielding Daggers is alot faster, than dual wielding Swords, because Daggers weight alot lesser, than swords and are much easier to swing quick, where you have with dual swords alot more to look at, that you don't hurt yourself, while swinging them around making them additionall slower in swinging, than daggers/katars

The way of balance is typical, dual swords are strogner and have a slightly longer range, but are slower to swing, than daggers/katars

Daggers/katars have lesser range and deal slightly lesser damage per hit, but you swing them alot faster, than the swords, dealing in a certain time period more hits to a foe and have a greater chance for dealing critical hits, than dual swords have.

Dual Wieldign now Daggers or Swords makes balance wise no difference, as long both kinds have their own speciality over the other type.
-------

And Shadows: you're wrong, Samurais fight not only with Katanas, they also fight with Dual Swords, the so called "Wakizashi", which is also similar to the Ninjas used Ninja-To . You can see it for example at the character design of the hero of the PS2 Game "Genji - Dawn of Samurai"

there the hero - a Samurai that fights with 2 Wakizashis/Kodachis

Wakizashis are the Dual Wielding Short Swords of the Samurai, but they are also known under the name of "Kodachi", theoretically both the same with similar blade length, but the blades have some differences. Kodachis have blades, with greater curves mostly, than wakizashi and have longer handles, thats mostly all, and they get either used in duo way, or combined with a bigger version of a Katana, which can still be holded with one hand, so a Chisa, which would be then the fight style of Miyamoto Musashi.

Because katana is not automatically = Katana. it gives 3 different kinds of Katanas which have all different names.

Shortest Katanas get called Wakizashi
Medium Katanas are known as Chisa (btw. Chisakatana)
and the largest katanas get called "Nodachi" and are the 2H Katanas mostly use to fight against Cavalry.

The Picture of the PS2 game shows its Hero wielding 2 Wakizashi-Katanas or Kodachis, can't see the differences on that pic XD.

Its also Miyamoto Musashi, which invested the first dual wielding Samurai Swordmanship Style combining a short Wakizashi together with a a bigger "companion sword" like Chisa.

Look at the games like Brave Fencer Musashiden (PS1) and Musashi. Samurai Legend, the sequel (PS2), that resembles that history about Miyamoto Musashi, one of the most famous Samurai of all for is unique sword style, the today called so "Hyōhō Niten Ichi-ryū.", which gets its origin from the name "niten'ichi", which means so much like "Two Heavens as One"., but others mean, the origin comes from a Kongen Buddhist Sutra and that it refers to a buddhism mythology about 2 Guardians of Buddha, because Miyamoto Musashi was a Buddhist. Ok, those 2 games overdo it naturally a bit, but they are naturally only fantasy games...

Look at wiki about Miyamoto Musashi, if you won't believe me
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miyamoto_Musashi

Too bad I wasn't either. Could have saved me a lot of time.

Topic was dual wielding for Warriors and some nerd starts posting all the Katana variants, concept art for an assassin, info about assassins in other games, info and wikipedia links on the inventor or dual wielding samurai styles...

Some people really loose focus while posting. Annoying way to waste other's time.

@ OP

/notsigned for balance reasons...maybe in GW2

You'll learn quick - PT's ideas are always bad and silly and very long.
Just skip them, quote them, snip them and flame them; and save yourself your sanity

Right, I've cleaned up the double posting, deleted the +1 spam posts. I'm moving this thread to the main Sardelac Sanitarium forum because it is not a Concept Class.

And if that wasn't enough, I'll be performing a triple whammy of amazing modness by merging this thread with a well established thread which already exists to discuss Dual Wielding, which any quick search of Sardelac would have picked up.

introducing two handed swords and axes with x1.5 dmg of one handed weapon and slower attack speed x1.25 of a one handed weapon as this offsets the disadvantage of no armour benefit from shield. I know dervish already has dmg like this. Diablo is not the only game to have included this so just why not do so too?

Off Topic:
IMO strengths armour penetration bonus ability sucks hard as other melee classes have dmg comparable with dmg + strength bonus.
perhaps change to adrenaline gain +3% for each point in strength.

Ok, having deleted a barrage of threads whining about the OP date I feel this is necessary:

Please quit complaining about the OP being old. Allow me to remind you all of this forum's rules:

Interesting idea, but we already have Assassins. Dual wielding could make its way into GW2 as a kind of mechanic/attribute line, but its inclusion into GW isn't necessary at this stage.

/notsigned for GW, /signed for GW2.
